Max Bill was born on December, 22 1908 in Winterthur, Switzerland. He apprenticeship as a silversmith during 1924-1927. He studied at the Bauhaus in Dessauu before he moved to Zurich. He became a pioneer the Allianz group of Swiss artists from 1937. In 1944, he became a professor at the school of art in Zurich.
in 1953, Max bill, Inge Aicher-chool and Otl Aicher founded the Ulm School of Design (German: Hochschule für Gestaltung – HfG Ulm) in Ulm, Germany which became second only to Bauhaus as the most influential school of design but the school only last for 15 years. The school is closed in 1968
Bill’s theoretical writing and progressive work is very essential for Swiss graphic design in the 1950′. Most of books about Max bill always sold out and the price became so expensive. Typography, Advertising, Book Design is still available in the very reasonable price which designed by Max Bill.
