I have been admiring his work since 2004. Once, Mongguzi become one of the judges for a poster competition in China. I was thinking it might be a way to connect with him. Unfortunately, I didnt win the competition.
He always became one of designers that I would like to meet. In 2009 , I had an opportunity to contact him for the first time. It always nerve racking to send an email to designers. He responded me very nicely and agreed to contribute for NEWWORK MAGAZINE issue 4. During the process of designing of the magazine, I had been learning a lot from him and he extremely pay attention to small details.
If you happens in Rochester, he will have poster exhibition started on September 9th to November 19th, 2011 in Rochester Institute of Technology. I am extremely want to go the exhibition. At this moment, I am really excited to meet Bruno Mongguzi and Anna Boggeri . The new book, Bruno Monguzzi: Fifty Years of Paper was published by Skira last May and distributed in the States by Rizzoli New York. This is definitely the book must have. You can check inside of the book here.
I hope he would have a great 70th birthday. Happy birthday Bruno Mongguzi !!
