Art 11’80 Die Internationale Kunstmesse is one the most exciting books that I ever come across. It might just look like any other art collection books, straight forward title in the center of the book however the color on the type is very memorable and striking. The design of the book is definitely worth exploring. The fore-edge of the book is designed to make the reader easy to navigate the chapters. This book is divided into four chapters; index of exhibitors, index of artists, illustrated pages, and supplement.
I want to excuse my self no to draw the grid of this book due to the sophisticated of his typography however I believe the book is based on 4 and 3 columns grids. Sometimes the gutter is shifted in different sections. Despite being a trilingual book, it is still neatly structured and the typography used fits nicely into the book. Words would not be able to describe how sophisticated the way he set the type and used the different weight lines. You can check out some of the book pages below.
This is an extraordinary book coming from an extraordinary designer. Salute to Wolfgang Weingart.

yeah, a catalog for The International Art Fair in Basel 1980 but I still feel its a book rather than a catalog.
